Pioneer Woman Book Signing

Yep… its true…

On Saturday morning…

I opened my PW cook book…

to the Angel Sugar Cookie page….

and I baked a batch of the most delicious sugar cookies EVER…

YUMMY! I had to taste them!!

I wanted to bake  something yummy for the kids to eat…

while My Man took me to Seattle…

for a Date day…..

in the Rain…

The POURING rain…

First we headed up to Third Place Books to grab a ticket to see Ree!

Our “time” with Ree was a couple hours away… So…

We drove to Green Lake area…

We enjoyed a big yummy burger… indoors…at a Bar and Grill …

Then we went for  a very very short walk around Green Lake

before the rain POURED down and we made a break for the car!

So we ended up in UW Village and poked around a couple shops

before we landed in Barnes and Noble…

We love love book stores!

sadly… no pictures folks… I was not on my game Saturday!

nerves!?!!   or maybe it was just all that RAIN!!   =)

Here we are waiting in line with the rest of group “E”…

waiting for our minute with Ree to sign our cookbooks!

Me and My husband…

waiting in a very hot bookstore…

with Hundreds of Women…

giddy, giggling, women!

He’s the man!!  What a gem!

After an hour or so waiting in line…

with some funny ladies from Lyden!

I took their picture with Ree’s oldest punk…

who happened to waltz by us while we were standing in line…

I hesitated to ask her to take a picture with me too…

and I quickly lost my moment to have my picture taken with

Ree’s cute little (tall) punk! =)

anyway…

Here I am watching Ree sign my book…

quiet as a mouse… (what is wrong with me?!)

DO you see my red cheeks…

blushing all the way down my neck!!

how embarrassing!

here I said something stupid about the rain…

what a dork I was!!

Maybe…

just maybe I redeemed myself with the contents of little gift bag…

You see in my hometown of Olympia ~

we have a local coffee roasting company…

Batdorf and Bronson… yummy!

They roast the BEST Coffee EVER !!

Yep…

I like Batdorf and Bronson Coffee…

better than Starbucks…

(sh… don’t tell Starbucks I  said that!)

On Friday my little man and I went down to the B&B tasting room…

to pick up a couple sample blends of Batdorf and Bronson Coffee…

to give to Ree…

She mentions Starbucks on her blog…

I figured she might like to taste B&B…

The Best  cup o Joe around!

We have a fabulous local coffee shop that I love…

which uses Batdorf and Bronson Coffee of course!

it has a very unique name…

There is a story behind the Dancing Goats…

but I will let you all use your imagination on that one!  =)

So I bought Ree the Dancing Goats blend…

and gave her this picture to go with it!  =)

I hope it makes her laugh!

Since I clearly didn’t … with my comment about the rain!

(what was wrong with me?!!)

I should have told her my children loved her angel cookies…

or I could have told her that after reading her hysterical post on Friday…

I used her “You can’t handle the ……….” line on my daughter …

Which turned into gut belly laughing with both my kids …

nope…

instead I said something stupid about the rain… *sigh*

So anyway…

Me with Ree…

Not Seizing My Moment very well!  =)

I don’t even want to talk about the fact that I nearly fell over during this picture…

and she giggled and  told me she would hold me up!   =)

What was wrong with me!!?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are reading this on Monday…
I am likely in the dental chair …
right now…
again…
being tortured …
again!!
3 hours…
2 more crown preps…
I might be out of commission for a day or two…
I don’t want to talk about it!
~~~~~~~~~~`But Good News~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Next week I have a Wonderful…

FABULOUS Surprise for you all!!

It may or may not have something to do with my day in Seattle!!

Oh I love being sneaky!!!

    I’m so glad to have found your blog! I’m an Olympian as well! 🙂 not the athlete kind… of course! I’m driving to Beaverton tomorrow to meet PW and I’m so excited! I will be going solo as everyone I know thinks I’m crazy 🙁 I love that you gave her some B&B beans! I didn’t even think of bringing her a treat. If you happen to see this comment in the AM before your appointment (ouch!) will you email me and let me know how early I should arrive? I was planning on arriving three hours early just to see what is going on… but advice would be good!

    That is so great Jenn!!!! No..not being tortured by the dentist…for that I am sorry, but your pictures with PW…very, very cool! How super thoughtful of you to bring her a little something and how extra super thoughtful of your husband to take you. Sounded like a fun day…rain and all!

    Oh man, that’s totally how I would be in a “celebrity” situation, such as that! I would clam right up and then kick myself later.

    I had no idea she was still doing signings??? I need to see if she’s in my area!

    As for the dentist – hate. it. I just made an appt. this a.m….I think I have a couple of cavities! What’s in the water around here?? Is Calvin contagious???

  • 11 Leslie Honcoop yazmış:

    You’re too hard on yourself!! Great idea to give her the Batdorf & Bronson!

    Sorry about the dentist…I hate it too — and I have a nice dentist…

    I really enjoyed hearing about your day in Seattle. I am sure PW was delighted that you gave her some Dancing Goats coffee – sounds wonderful. I would have been just like you if I had met her too. I once met Princess Anne through my work and I went to pieces!
    Hope your trip to the dentist went ok. I am so nervous even if I go for a check up and have no treatment I am a nervous wreck and keep going to the loo all the time. Honestly I am a lost cause where the dentist is concerned. Loved all your pictures now I can picture you when I think of you.

    For just starting your blog you have quite a following!!!

    It was so fun meeting you the other night…your hubby too!!!

    Such a fun time! You and Ree look adorable! We asked her about her spanx and she had us feel her fat roll. Can’t get any more embarassing than that!!

  • 19 Julie yazmış:

    I am so excited for you. You got to meet HER!! How fun! Your run down on the scenerio made me laugh. Thanks for your sweet comment today. I think we’ve got a lot in common. I’m not sure if I told you before but my son has ADHD and does so much better with the one on one setting. I, like you, know that God has called me to this. And so I press on!

    Hey, we both live in Wa. so you never know! Maybe we’ll meet one day!

    And, yes, of course I like Phil Collins. But Elton John takes the cake for me!

  • 20 abby yazmış:

    I’m sure Ree loved your coffee!! How exciting to meet her! I’m sure my tongue would be tied if I met her too! Lucky you though!!!

  • 21 Amanda @ Serenity Now yazmış:

    I’d be nervous meeting her too!! How sweet of you to bring her a gift. 🙂 Thanks so much for the visit today!

    Those cookies look amazing! Why is it that Washington makes such great coffee? Does all the rain have something to do with it?

  • 23 Lemonade Makin' Mama yazmış:

    If Adrain hadn’t just arrived home from India, I would totally have been there too girl!! I’m green with envy that you got that close to her… Dang!

  • 25 Debby Pucci yazmış:

    I’m sure your back from the dentist by now, hope it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be.

    What a wonderful time you had. What a fun weekend.
    Way to go on getting that book signed.

  • 26 arizonamamma yazmış:

    So I have to laugh a little bit at the last picture of you with PW. It’s a great picture, but it looks a little like you are sitting on her lap 🙂

    Regarding Elton John…no real story…just that he is in my family tree. That’s all. He is a very very very distant cousin on my dad’s side.

  • 27 citymouse yazmış:

    Kudos for just going and making it happen… and for getting your hubby to go with you! I probably wouldn’t have even said a word. I can be so shy in situations like that. The coffee was a very nice touch.

  • 28 He & Me + 3 yazmış:

    Hello Olympia Friend! Thanks for your comments on my site – so sweet. So sad knowing we lost our Moms at such a young age. I just found out yesterday our little one is a GIRL! I would have been ecstatic either way, but after losing my own Mom, I have thrilled to have a daughter!

    You asked if I have Google Friend Connect. Help me know what that is (sorry for my confusion). I do read sites in Google Reader. That much I know!

    Thanks again and hope you are well!

    – Courtney
