Evening Snow
My kids have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this night!
The weather people predicted a lot of snow this winter
We are a little disappointed that Washington has NOT had its fair share … yet…
tonight it started lightly snowing at 5:30 pm
by 7:30 there was just enough to play in…
and still snowing!!
So I did what any good mom would do…
I bundled up my littles and took them out in the dark
for a little Evening Snow Fun
the kids pulled out their sled right away
the only time I am happy about having a sloped driveway
is when it snows!
Perfect for sledding!
crazy littles
sledding in the dark! =)
Lucky we have a street light right in front of our house!!
Mr. McFaithful even took Merlin for a walk
in the snow
Merlin LOVES the snow!!
he hates water…
but he goes crazy wild in the snow
have a nice walk boys!
I stood outside with my camera
under my umbrella that reminds me of Mary Poppins…
I love Mary Poppins!!
anyway…
the kids couldn’t believe how fast the snow collected on it…
hey…
give that back to me…
just kidding…
they gave it right back
they had sledding to do.
Have you ever seen Snowflake shadows???
the wind was blowing slightly
moving the flakes quickly across the snow
and under the light…
it was casting shadows
so the flakes and the shadows were dancing across the snow
it was SO cool…
the picture really doesn’t snow it!
Oh hello boys!!
did you have a nice walk crazy snow dog?
look at Mr. McFaithful’s hat…
10 minute walk tops…
too funny!
the sad part is…
it is supposed to warm up to 48 degrees tomorrow
and disappear
that is really why we played in it tonight!
I hope it sticks around for an hour or two in the am!!
We love a good snowfall…
it is sad that we might wake up and this will be gone!!
(Cold) =)
Speaking of sleep…
I am one tired momma!
Good Night Moon… Good night snow.
=)

So I’m liking your hubbys new name!!
We have a ton of snow right now and it’s snowing still but sadly it’s suppose to get to 40 degrees today which will make for a soupy mess!!
I love Mary Poppins!! (Imagine me singing this in bert’s voice and the farm animals..and accent!)
It’s a jolly Holiday with Mary..Mary makes your heart so bright…when the day is gray and ordinary…Mary makes the sun shine bright! Happiness is brewing all around her…the daffodiles are smiling at the (sun or doves..not sure which one)…When Mary holds your hand..you feel so grand…your heart starts beatin’ like a big brass band..oh it’s a jolly holiday with Mary…no wonder that it’s Mary that we LOVE!!!
There….it cheered me up just (singing) typing that! Of course, the words might be messed up..I did it from my little ole memory!!

Sooo fun to go outside and enjoy a snowfall!! 🙂 We had a few days of big, white, fluffy flakes and it was really fun (for the kids. I stayed inside and shot photos from there!) 🙂

We’ve had over four feet total here this winter on this side of WA… some of which has melted, but I’ve got at least a foot still in my front yard. It’s supposed to get warm this weekend though, so maybe we’ll lose it–we’ll see. Sounds like a lovely evening–falling snow is SO magical!
January 13th, 2011 saat: 10:38 am
We are having quite a bit of the white stuff…lots falling here as I write…
love the umbrellas in the snow pics…you are creative, girl!
can’t wait to see photo challenges…
January 13th, 2011 saat: 1:14 pm
Loving the snow pictures and must have been a blast for everyone! We had snow, then ice, which made it hard to enjoy after a while 🙁
January 13th, 2011 saat: 7:18 pm
i love how giant the snowflakes look when they are caught on camera!
January 13th, 2011 saat: 7:57 pm
Oh, that is very sweet. Your kiddos should have their snowy night of fun as a lasting memory now! My li’l portion of Washington State has been getting its fair share of snow this year. We’ve had at least a couple of feet!
Happy weekend!

You are a good mom for sure taking them out before it melts away… hope it is still there for you all to enjoy a tiny bit more today.
-that sloped drive is a bonus, we had one at our 1st house. It is even good for teaching kids to ride their bike without training wheels!
You know, just a reminder, I love mary popppins too-
